Scots Wha Hae

'Sup Y'all! I mean Craig. What's up, Craig (AKA the only one to ever ask me about my pissant blog). Still practicing, albeit sometimes intermittently on account of higher priority things (i.e. family life, work stress, sleep). One big ol' burden is now lifted (no more skewl) which should free up more practice time...and more time to make dorky videos. But remember my whole point for making these clips (no its not narcissism). I want to teach my girls that if something is worth doing well...then its worth doing poorly. Meaning, if they are interested in something, then it will take time and practice in order to become good at it. If golf was as easy as Tiger makes it look, then we'd all be on the pro tour right. Similarly, if bagpipes were easy to master, then we'd all be wearing kilts right? Anyways, here ya go...the latest installment of SYTYCP, enjoy....

Brian,

I'm a friend of Alex Maslowski, and I've been a bagpiper for about 11 years now. I wouldn't say I'm an avid reader of your blog, but I stop by every once and a while. It's good that you're learning, it's a great instrument. I wouldn't say I'm great, but I know my way around a set of pipes (Alex is never going to let me hear the end of it if he reads that sentence.) Good luck and let me know if you want any tips.

Saw your link somewhere else and looked at your Scots Wha Hae video. Your gracenotes are too BIG! Make them "precise" but not that big. Lifting your fingers very high does not translate into good playing. Placing them accurately, at the correct time, does. Good luck!
